Subject:  Ban on export of Cotton (Tariff Code 5201 and 5203)- reg.

Sir / Madam,

            Attention is invited to Board’s Circular No. 06/2012-Cus dated 06-03-2012 and DGFT RE Notification No.102 (RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 5thMarch, 2012 amending Notification no. 74(RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 12-09-2011 imposing ban on export of cotton (Tariff code 5201 and 5203).

2.         DGFT vide Notification no. 106(RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 12th March, 2012 has withdrawn the earlier Notification No. 102 imposing ban and now the export of Cotton is free subject to the condition “prior registration of Contract with DGFT”.

3.         Considering the sensitivity of the issue the Board desires that the field formations should strictly monitor the conditions imposed by DGFT in the above notification with immediate effect.

4.         Suitable instructions may accordingly be given to the field formations.
