Subject:  Ban on export of Cotton (Tariff Code 5201 and 5203)-  reg.

Sir / Madam,

Attention is invited to Board’s Circular No. 6/2012-Cus dated 06-03-2012 regarding imposition of ban on export of Cotton (TH 5201 and 5203) vide DGFT Notification No.102 (RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 05.03.2012. 

 2.         In this regard DGFT has issued another Circular No. 58(RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 09-03-2012 to clarify that the consignments of Cotton for which ‘Let Export Orders’ have been issued by Customs authorities till 2400 hrs. on Sunday, 04-03-2012 will be outside the purview of the Notification No.102 (RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 05.03.2012.

 3.         Accordingly, Board desires that the field formations shall allow the export of consignments of Cotton (TH 5201 and 5203) for which ‘Let Export Orders’ have already been issued till 2400 hrs. on 04-03-2012.
